logrotateで「Logrotate: ALERT exited abnormally with [1]」が出た場合、
logrotateの設定上の問題である可能性が高いです。

調査として、下記コマンドを実行することでエラーとなっている設定を確認することができます。

コマンド

logrotate -vd /etc/logrotate.conf |& grep ^error

エラー例
下記の例は、waagent-extn.logrotateファイル内の「 /var/log/azure/Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.AzureMonitorLinuxAgent/CommandExecution.log」の設定が重複していることを示しています。

error: waagent-extn.logrotate:1 duplicate log entry for /var/log/azure/Microsoft.Azure.Monitor.AzureMonitorLinuxAgent/CommandExecution.log
error: found error in file waagent-extn.logrotate, skipping

対応方法については、対象のファイルから該当の設定を削除することとなりますが、
上記の例では、AzurenoWAAgentのアップデートにより、アップデート前と後のファイルが重複したためエラーとなっていました。
その場合は、旧バージョンのファイルを削除する必要があります。
